Candles Creating Change® is Door County Candle Company's philanthropic initiative to donate money to various causes through the sales of their handcrafted scented wax products! When you buy any traditional candle, soy candle, wax melt or votive, a portion of the sale will be donated to various causes.

Currently, there are three ways your purchase makes a difference: Candles Creating Change®, Support a Cause, and Local Support a Cause. 

Candles Creating Change®: With every scented wax product purchase, a portion of proceeds will be donated to various nonprofits. With your purchase, you become an agent of change.

Support a Cause: This is a specific product focused on a specific cause (ie: our Ukraine Candle). This allows us to partner with organizations and work together on their fundraising efforts and goals. 

Local Support a Cause: Each quarter, we select a nonprofit performing work in Door County that has been nominated by members of the community. Like the national Support a Cause efforts, a specific product is selected for this program and sales from this product directly impact the nonprofit. 

Coming Soon: We are currently developing a fundraising platform that will allow anyone with a U.S. based 501(c)(3) to use our Candles Creating Change to raise money for their specific organization! Stay tuned as more information will be shared!

When you shop on our site, you will be able to see which category your purchase is supporting by clicking on the "Philanthropic Category" section.

Coupons do not apply to Support a Cause candles.

This number is always growing! Currently, we have donated over $1M! As we continue adding causes to support with our candles, our donations will continue to grow.

We donate a portion of all our scented wax products (traditional candles, soy candles, wax melts & votives) to various nonprofits. For the Ukraine Candle, we donate 100% of our profits.

The Door County Candle Co. Candle Bar is a unique and creative experience where you get a chance to create your own soy candle. At our candle bar, we provide you with over 50 captivating, proprietary scents, all of which are IFRA certified to ensure they're made from non-harmful ingredients. It's more than just a product, it's an experience and a memory you'll cherish!

At the Candle Bar, you become the artisan! You'll start by choosing your favorite scents from our wide range of offerings. Mix and match to create your unique blend, then pour your own soy candle. We'll guide you through the entire process, ensuring a fun and enjoyable experience.

Absolutely! All our scents are IFRA certified, meaning they meet the highest standards for safety and are free from harmful ingredients. Your health and safety are our top priority!

Our candle-making activity is perfect for individuals aged 16 and above.  

It's an ideal opportunity for families to come together, create something special, and make lasting memories. Please note that children must be supervised by an adult at all times for their safety. 

The candle bar experience typically takes about 30 minutes.

Our Candle Bar is open and ready to welcome you from 9:30AM to 3:30PM.

Reservations are recommended to secure a spot, although walk-ins are welcome, we cannot guarantee availability, especially during peak times or for larger groups. This ensures the best possible experience for every guest.

Absolutely! Our Candle Bar is a perfect venue for birthday parties, bridal showers, team building events, and more. Please get in touch with us to discuss your requirements and how we can make your event special.

The cost for creating a 16oz mason jar soy candle is $35/person.

Yes, for the safety of all our guests, we kindly ask that everyone signs a liability release form before participating in the candle-making experience. This ensures a safe and enjoyable time for everyone involved.

We sell fragrance oils of all our special scents!

We do not serve alcohol at our Candle Bar. However, we offer a fun and enjoyable candle-making experience that you can cherish with your friends and loved ones. Also, there are plenty of wineries and distilleries around for you to visit!

After you pour your custom-made candle at our Candle Bar, it will need around 4 hours to properly cool and set. Therefore, depending on when you pour your candle, it may not be available to pick it up the same day. If you pour your candle early in the day, you might be able to pick it up by late afternoon. Otherwise, it will be ready for pick up the following day. We can also ship your candle for $9.99. We appreciate your understanding and patience with this necessary process to ensure your candle is perfect!

To ensure the best possible experience, we strongly recommend that you arrive at least 10 minutes prior to your scheduled reservation time. This allows you to familiarize yourself with the Candle Bar, settle in, and prepare for your candle-making session without feeling rushed. It's our goal to provide a relaxed and enjoyable experience for all our guests, and arriving a bit early helps ensure this.

We understand that sometimes plans change and you may need to cancel your reservation. If you find yourself in this situation, please note that cancelations must be made at least 48 hours in advance of your scheduled appointment to qualify for a full refund. To cancel, please reach out to us directly. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with this policy, which allows us to offer the candle-making experience to other guests in case of a cancellation.

We do not allow food at our Candle Bar. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with this policy!

We love creativity, but we've gone through thorough testing with our vessels to ensure a safe and as clean burn possible (always follow the candle care instructions for the best burn)for our candles. Therefore, we currently do not allow guests to bring their own vessels. The use of our specifically chosen candle container ensures a consistent, high-quality, and safe candle-making experience. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter.

Yes, we will! If you are unable to pick up your candle immediately, we can hold it for you at the Candle Bar for up to 30 days. However, please note that if the candle is not collected within this time frame, it will be donated to a local nonprofit and/or charity.

We use the highest grade paraffin and soy wax.

Traditional candles, wax melts and votives are made with paraffin wax, and our soy candles are made from 100% organic soy wax.

Yes! All of our scented wax products are made at our headquarters in Door County, WI! When you come visit, you can watch the candle making in action.

Our Candles Creating Change™ Fundraising Program is a virtual fundraising program that allows groups and organizations of all sizes to raise funds easily and effectively. Once you join our program, you'll receive a unique event code. When this code is used to during checkout on qualifying products, including candles, votives, and wax melts, a portion of the sales goes directly towards your group's fundraising goals. It's an exciting way to support your cause while offering high-quality, hand-poured candles to your community.

Groups can earn up to $10 per candle sold through our fundraising program. The exact amount depends on the specific product purchased. The earnings from each item is based on the final price of the item, thus the earing amount is calculated after sales or other discounts applied to the products. We're proud to offer this significant earning potential to help your group achieve its goals.

Joining the program is simple. Sign up here, and then we will schedule a discovery meeting to discuss your organization and fundraising goals. We'll provide you with all the necessary information and set you up with a unique event code, which will be the key to your fundraising success.

Promoting your event code is entirely up to you! We recommend sharing it with your supporters, friends, and community members through social media, emails, newsletters, or any other methods that work best for your group. The more you share, the more potential you have for earning! We are happy to help you strategize marketing initiatives and ideas.

Our program is designed to benefit groups and organizations of all sizes. This includes schools, school groups, school clubs, and 501(c)(3) nonprofits. If your group is looking for an easy and efficient way to raise funds, we're here to help.

Yes, you can track your fundraising progress on the fundraising dashboard. From the admin page, you’ll be able to monitor your sales and earnings, helping you stay motivated and informed throughout your fundraising journey.

If the product is tagged as Candles Creating Change, it qualifies for the program. This includes our full range of candles, votives, and wax melts. Your supporters have the option to choose from our entire hand-poured candle collection.

Absolutely! We encourage groups to participate as often as they would like. Whether you have ongoing funding needs or specific goals at different times of the year, our program is here to support you. However, groups can only fundraise for 45 days per fundraiser.

Yes! You will have the ability to do a bulk upload with a template we provide you with orders.

There are a few shipping options.  

  1. Organizations can choose to pick up candles at Door County Candle Company free of charge. 
  2. Organizations can choose to ship the candles to one location, and Door County Candle will quote you the price. 
  3. Online orders will pay for flat-rate shipping on an order-by-order basis.

No, you cannot redeem rewards when you place an order through a fundraiser. However, you are able to get points for your order when you place your order via our website.

No. You cannot use coupon codes in conjunction with a fundraising event code. This policy ensures that organizations can maximize their fundraising efforts and raise the highest amount of money possible.

Our shipping lead times are 7-10 business days. If there are shipping delays, we will inform you!

Processing time for free shipping and standard flat rate ($9.99) are the same, orders are processed in the order they are received. When you choose priority order processing, ($18), you move your order to the top of the processing queue.

Labels are created at the time the package is shipped. Due to our remote location in Door County, we only have a single daily FedEx pick up. If your label was created after the daily cut off, your package will ship on the next business day. We fulfill orders on weekends, and these orders will be picked up on the following Monday.

We primarily ship via FedEx, but reserve the right to ship via USPS or another carrier at our discretion.

No - Support a Cause candles are excluded from free shipping and all other promotional offers.

Absolutely! If your order is damaged, please reach out to us at info@doorcountycandle.com and the team will work with you to fix any issues or problems that may have occurred in transit. Please have photos and your order number ready, as they will be required.
