The right people bring a lightness to your life. They ease your tension, lift you up, and make challenges feel manageable. On the other hand, we’ve all felt the weight of being around those who judge or unsettle us. Choosing people who cheer you on changes everything—they become a safety net of kindness to catch you when you fall or celebrate you when you rise.
This week, I reflected on this lightness while thinking about the incredible team at Door County Candle. What we’ve built is more than candles—it’s a community of kindness, support, and shared purpose. I’m so grateful for a team and community that steps in without hesitation, lends a hand when needed, and supports every new idea with enthusiasm. From those who tackle special projects to those who ensure every detail is handled with care, these moments remind me daily of how lucky I am to share my life with people who bring so much light. They are proof of the magic of unconditional support.
Building this lightness takes intention. Pay attention to how people make you feel. Do they energize and support you, or leave you drained? The right people will always make you feel lighter, lifted, and capable of taking on the world. Sometimes, protecting your peace means stepping back from relationships that weigh you down.
