Yesterday marked International Women’s Day, and March is Women’s History Month—such a beautiful reminder to pause and celebrate the incredible women who shape our lives.
I’m deeply thankful for the remarkable women I’ve met along the way. Each one has left an imprint—a lesson, a laugh, or simply their presence in moments I needed strength. I think of the women who have surrounded me—my mother, my grandmother, my friends, my family, my sisters in spirit—each one a testament to resilience, grace, and unshakable love. And I’m growing more mindful every day of the woman I’m empowered to be for those who come after me.
To the men who show up for us—not just standing beside us, but lifting us higher, championing our dreams, and bringing light into our lives—I am deeply, endlessly grateful for you.
This reflection brings me to a profound realization: women encourage and inspire us in ways that feel impossibly boundless. They remind us to be bold, to love fiercely, to nurture those we care about, and to keep showing up as our truest selves. To all the women who inspire others, you are powerful beyond words. And to the men who stand beside us, lifting us up with your unwavering support—you remind us that together, we can shine even brighter.
Here at Door County Candle, I’ve been thinking about how much candles remind me of the strength and light that women bring into our lives. Candles illuminate dark spaces. They provide warmth, comfort, and steady reassurance, even when the world feels unsteady. And isn’t that what extraordinary women do for us every day? They are our steady flame, our quiet source of hope, and the light that keeps shining, no matter what.
Cheers to the women who have lit a fire in us, and cheers to the people—women and men—who’ve kept those flames burning. My gratitude for you all is immeasurable.
