Sunday Reflections ✨ 12.29.2024

Wow—here we are, wrapping up 2024 together. It’s hard to believe I’m sitting down to write this final reflection of the year. What a journey it’s been! This year brought its fair share of ups and downs, moments of joy, triumph, laughs and tears. But through it all, I’m left feeling inspired, grateful, and hopeful for what’s ahead.

Early this year, we faced one of our toughest challenges yet with the road construction on Highway 42. Having the highway closed right in front of us wasn’t easy—it tested us in ways we didn’t expect. But if I’ve learned anything, it’s that challenges can make you stronger. While we stumbled at first, we found our footing as a team and as a community. Together, we made it through—and that resilience is something I’ll always carry with me.

Amidst the challenges came so much growth. One of the brightest highlights of 2024 was launching our candle bar! Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine the joy and creativity this space would bring! Thousands of you joined us to pour your own candles, creating beautiful memories along the way. It’s more than just making candles—it’s the laughter, the stories, and the joy we see when you walk out holding something you made. And while I don’t want to spoil too much, let’s just say there’s more to come in 2025—I can’t wait to see where it takes us.

But the heart of this year, for me, has been the impact we’ve been able to make together. Our mission at Candles Creating Change continues to guide everything we do. Thanks to YOUR support, we’ve achieved incredible things. This year, we contributed to incredible organizations like Make-A-Wish Wisconsin, the MACC Fund, the Maui Ocean Center Marine Institute, Walk to End Alzheimer’s, Razom for Ukraine, and so many others. Every time you chose one of our candles, you weren’t just buying something beautiful—you were helping create ripples of kindness and giving around the world. YOU have been a part of this impact, and I’m so deeply grateful for that. We’ll be sharing a full impact report in January to celebrate these milestones with you.

Looking ahead to 2025, my heart is full of hope—hope for more growth, more connections, and more opportunities to give back. Together, let’s keep making the world a little brighter, one candle at a time. Whatever this next year holds, I know it will be memorable because we’ll face it together.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being here, for believing in our mission, and for being part of the Door County Candle Family. Wishing you and your loved ones a peaceful end to 2024 and a bright, hopeful start to 2025.

With love and endless gratitude,
💛Christiana
