I believe in signs. I always have, and I always will.
My grandfather was one of my favorite people in this whole world. He passed away years ago, but I've never truly felt like he left me. Every so often, something happens that reminds me of him. A little nudge, a quiet hello, a song, a moment that feels like more than just a coincidence. And every single time, my heart feels a little lighter knowing that, somehow, he's never truly far away.
Here's what I've learned about signs, though. They don't shout. They whisper. And sometimes, when we're moving too fast, carrying too much, or simply caught up in the busyness of life, we miss them completely.
Maybe it's a cardinal that lingers in your yard just a little longer than usual. Maybe it's meeting someone who shares the name of a loved one. Maybe it's a song that comes on at the exact moment you needed it, one that instantly brings back someone you love. Or maybe it's something so small and unexpected that it stops you in your tracks and makes you smile.
Whether these moments come from the love we still carry for those we've lost, or simply from life finding a way to remind us of what matters, I think the message is often the same: You're okay. You're not alone. Everything is going to be alright.
We just have to be open to noticing them.
So this week, I invite you to slow down. Look up. Listen a little closer. Give yourself permission to notice the beauty and meaning tucked into ordinary days. Light a candle, sit quietly for a moment, and leave room for something special to find you.
I truly believe the people we love never really leave us. They live on in our memories, in the stories we tell, in the little things that remind us of them when we least expect it. In feathers and melodies, in sunsets and sudden feelings of peace. And sometimes, in those moments, it feels like they're still right there, cheering us on.
Open your mind. Open your heart. Pay attention to the little things. You never know when a moment that seems ordinary might turn out to be exactly what you needed.
