Sunday Reflections ✨ 1.18.2026

As I sip my coffee and reflect on this past week, my heart feels both heavy and clear. Some lessons in life hurt, but they’re the ones that end up protecting us the most.

This week brought one of those lessons front and center, and I want to share it in case you’ve ever felt the same. As a business owner, I meet a lot of people and hope for genuine connections. But the truth is, not everyone’s intentions are sincere. Transactional relationships exist, and we have to be careful.

Something truly came to light for me this week. When someone was on the clock, they didn’t hesitate to check in and catch up with me. But when they were no longer on the clock and I asked if they’d like to sit and chat, they suddenly didn’t have the time. It was a moment of clarity, revealing how some relationships are shaped more by circumstance than genuine care. It made me reflect deeply on how my time and energy are best spent—with those who truly value them, not just when it’s convenient.

The gift in all of this is clarity. While transactional relationships can be disheartening, they also highlight the genuine people in your life, making them shine even brighter. The ones who reach out just to check in, who lift you up without expecting anything in return—they are rare and truly precious. I am deeply grateful for the authentic connections I have, whether it’s with my incredible team at the candle shop, my supportive family, or my friends. I'm choosing to focus my energy on those relationships, not the transactional ones.

So as we start a new week, hold tight to those who respect and cherish you. Be mindful of your circle, and protect your heart and energy from those who don’t see your true worth.

You deserve connections that are as real and generous as you are.
