This week, I caught myself staring at my to-do list, feeling like I hadn't done nearly enough. The tasks kept piling up faster than I could cross them off. And if I'm honest, it felt like I was moving backwards.
Maybe you know that feeling too.
But then I stepped into the candle shop early one morning, before the doors opened, and I stood there in the quiet. And I remembered something. So much of what matters most is happening where we can't see it.
Think about the candles we pour here. Long before you ever catch the scent or watch the flame flicker, there's work happening beneath the surface. Wax setting. Wicks steadying. Time doing its slow, patient work.
Life is a lot like that.
The seeds you planted weeks ago are still growing, even when the soil looks bare. The lessons you're learning are shaping you, even when you feel stuck. The quiet effort you're pouring in every single day is adding up, even when the results haven't shown themselves yet.
Just because you can't measure the progress today doesn't mean it isn't there.
We are so hard on ourselves. We count everything we didn't finish and forget all the forward motion happening quietly in the background.
So this week, let's give ourselves grace. Let's trust that the unseen work is still work. Let's believe that we are growing, even in the stillness.
