Sunday Reflections ✨ 9.06.26

It's September. I can hardly believe it. We're heading into fall, and yet the sun is still warm on my shoulders, the days still stretching long and golden. There's something tender about this in-between moment — summer holding on while autumn quietly begins to turn the leaves.

This morning, Nic and I went for one of our usual walks. You know the kind, where the conversation wanders as much as your feet do. A few early leaves had already drifted onto the path, little flecks of amber and rust underfoot. We got to talking about the seasons. Not just the ones on the calendar, but the ones we carry inside us.

Because we all move through seasons, don't we?

Some are bright and full of laughter, like the height of summer. Some are quiet and slow. And some — the fall ones — ask us to let go of things we've held onto for so long. Highs, lows, and all those in-between moments where you're not quite sure where you stand.

Here's what I keep coming back to.

There is so much beauty in the letting go.

Think about the trees this time of year. They don't cling. They release. And in that releasing, they blaze into the most breathtaking colors — deep golds, fiery reds, warm ambers. The leaves don't fade quietly. They turn, they shine, and then they let go, drifting down to make room for what's coming next. It's nature's way of reminding us that letting go isn't the end of something beautiful. Sometimes it's the most beautiful part.

If you're in a season of letting go right now, I want you to hear this. It's okay to feel it. Change is hard — I won't pretend otherwise. But hard doesn't mean bad. Sometimes the hardest shifts carry the most meaning. You don't have to hold on to what's ready to fall, and you don't have to rush the turning. But please, trust it. There is grace in the release. There always is.

And if you're in a season of golden warmth, soak it up. Be grateful for it. Let it fill you. You deserve all that light.

So this Sunday, my gentle reminder to you is simple:

Embrace the seasons. All of them. The bright ones and the ones that ask you to let go, the loud ones and the still ones. Each one is shaping you, teaching you, growing you into who you're becoming.

You are exactly where you need to be.
