Sunday Reflections ✨ 8.09.26

This week, I keep coming back to one word: care.

When the tornado hit the Menasha/Fox Valley area, we knew we had to do something. So we got to work on our Wisconsin Strong candle. And what’s happened since has been one of those reminders of why our candles mean so much.

I’ve met people who told me about their neighbors losing everything. Their homes, their belongings, their sense of safety, gone in moments. I’ve met others who watched the tornado tear through while they were at work, and even in the midst of it all, they were asking, How can I help?

And then something beautiful happened right inside our store.

Strangers started talking. They realized they were practically neighbors back in Menasha. I watched them ask each other, “How are you doing? Are you okay?”

These are the moments that stay with me.

Our candles have never really been about the wax or the fragrance. They’re about people. About finding each other in the middle of the hardest days. About showing up and reminding one another that we care.

So here’s my gentle reminder to you this Sunday:

Check on your neighbor. Send that text. Make that call. Knock on that door. Ask the simple question, “How are you doing?” and truly listen to the answer.

You never know how much someone needs to be seen. And you never know how much light you carry until you share it.
