I've been thinking a lot this week about waiting. Waiting until you feel ready. Waiting until everything lines up just so and the timing finally feels perfect.
Here's my honest truth: if you wait for that moment, you'll be waiting for the rest of your life.
Five years ago, I bought Door County Candle. Was I 100% ready? Not even close. I didn't have every answer. I didn't have a tidy little roadmap telling me exactly how it would all go. What I had was a spark, a leap of faith, and a whole lot of "let's just figure it out as we go."
And you know what? Figuring it out as I went became part of the whole adventure.
I think we get this idea in our heads that we have to feel completely comfortable before we make a big move. That we need to be experts before we begin. But comfort and readiness? They usually show up after you take the leap, not before. You grow into the thing by doing the thing.
Sometimes you just need a little push. Maybe it comes from you — that quiet voice saying go for it. Maybe it comes from a friend who believes in you more than you believe in yourself in that moment. Either way, take the push. Let it move you forward.
Because the truth is, none of us are ever fully ready. We just decide we're ready enough.
So this is my little Sunday nudge to you: whatever you've been putting off until you feel "ready"... maybe this is the week you stop waiting.
You don't have to have it all figured out. You just have to begin.
