Sunday Reflections ✨ 7.13.2025

This week, I’ve been reflecting on the art of slowing down.

The other day, I was walking around the candle shop when Nic asked me why I was walking so fast - practically running. I didn’t have a good answer. My instinctive response was, “I have to get things done.” But then he said something that stopped me in my tracks: “It’s okay to slow down. We can’t always be running and running and running—it’s not healthy.”

He’s right. It’s not healthy. And yet, slowing down feels so counterintuitive in a world that constantly tells us to go faster, do more, and achieve everything yesterday. But I’ve realized that the days I cherish most are the ones where we just sit, relax, and let the world move at its own pace. Those moments remind me that it’s okay to not always be working or racing to the next thing. It’s okay to just be.

Slowing down takes effort for me—it’s not something that comes naturally. But when I do, I notice the magic in the quiet. I hear the birds singing, I feel the breeze on my face, and I see the flowers I might have sprinted past. Life feels richer when I take the time to notice it.

So, this week, I’m reminding myself—and maybe you need this reminder too—that life won’t wait for us to be “ready.” It’s happening right now, in the small, quiet moments we often rush through. Slow down. Walk a little slower. Listen to the birds. Smell the flowers. Let yourself breathe.

Because when we slow down, we make space for the beauty we might have missed. And that’s where the magic happens.

Here’s to a week of slowing down, savoring the quiet, and finding joy in the little things.

With all my heart,
💛 Christiana
