Sunday Reflections ✨ 6.22.2025

This week, I’ve been reflecting on how life’s twists and turns often don’t align with even our best-laid plans. It can feel frustrating and overwhelming when things fall apart, but I’m starting to believe those moments are where the greatest growth happens.

I love the sense of structure and control a good plan brings. But if life has taught me anything, it’s that control is an illusion. Unexpected challenges, big or small, show up and interrupt the flow. I’ve had those moments where I felt like all my careful preparation was swept away, leaving frustration and a sense of helplessness in its place.

Nic recently reminded me to focus only on what I can control and release what I can’t. While this isn’t always easy advice to follow, I’ve noticed how much lighter life feels when I take it to heart. Instead of fighting against what I can’t change, I simply take small, purposeful steps forward, trusting that things will eventually fall into place.

One of my favorite sayings is, “A smooth sea never made a skillful sailor.” And as hard as it is to admit sometimes, those rough waters force us to grow. They challenge us, shape us, and lead us to discover strength we didn’t know we had. Even when it feels impossible in the moment, the biggest struggles often teach us the most valuable lessons.

This week, I encourage you to reflect on how far you’ve come. Think about the storms you’ve weathered and the resilience you’ve built along the way. These challenges don’t define you; they refine you.

There’s a simple magic in the glow of a single candle. It lights the way, brings peace in uncertain moments, and offers quiet hope. If life feels heavy right now, I hope you’ll look for those small lights in your day. A moment of gratitude, a kind word, or even just the quiet warmth of a flame can remind you that hope is still there.

Remember, your story is being written every single day. Take things one step at a time, trust the process, and know that brighter days are on the horizon.
