Sunday Reflections ✨ 5.25.2025

On this Memorial Day weekend, my heart is especially full as I reflect on the sacrifices made by so many for the freedoms we enjoy. I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude for those who have served, and their courage and selflessness are never lost on me.

My grandfather was one of those people. He served in the Air Force, and his pride in that chapter of his life was something that could light up a room. He loved to tell stories about his time in service, and it was impossible not to feel inspired by the way he carried that pride in his heart, always. We were and still are so proud of him—for his service, for his strength, and for the example he set for our family.

I wish he could be here now to see where life has taken us and the paths we’ve walked. I especially wish he could see the work we’ve done to stand with Ukraine. I know he would have been proud to see those efforts, and I hope he would be proud of me for trying to make some small difference in this complex and broken world. Knowing him, I believe he is watching, and I hold on to the thought that he’s still cheering me on, just as he always did.

Today, as I think of him, I also think of countless others like him who answered the call and gave so much of themselves. To every veteran, every family member who has endured separations and sacrifices, to those who never made it home, thank you. Your sacrifices are woven into the very foundation of our lives, and we honor you, not just today but always.

With love and deep gratitude,
💛Christiana
