Do you ever find yourself caught in the rush to do it all? Sometimes, it feels like life is a race where we're sprinting to check off as many tasks as we can. I’ve been there too, trying to juggle everything at once and thinking, “If I can just tackle all of this now, I’ll feel accomplished.” But you know what my dad always says? Haste makes waste. And, oh, how true that is.
When I think about those words, they always remind me of the work we do here at Door County Candle. Creating a new scent isn’t something we rush through—we simply can’t. Each fragrance takes time to develop. We test, we tweak, and then we test again. Rushing through it wouldn’t just risk a mediocre candle; it would also mean missing the joy we find in the creative process itself. And really, isn’t that the beauty of it? Taking the time, pouring in the care, and knowing every step matters.
It’s a reminder that doing one thing well is often so much more meaningful than trying to do everything all at once. After all, when we slow down, we open ourselves up to creating something truly special. Whether it’s crafting candles or simply tackling a to-do list, the heart of the matter is the same.
This week, I invite you to take a deep breath and pace yourself. It’s okay to pause and focus on just one thing. Make it your best. And remember, sometimes it’s in those little moments of patience and care where the magic happens.
