Blind confidence. It’s a real thing, and honestly, it’s been one of my greatest allies as a business owner.
Blind confidence is that unshakable belief in yourself—when you don’t have all the answers, when you don’t know all the risks, and when the odds might not even be in your favor. It’s not about being reckless; it’s about trusting yourself enough to take the leap, even when the path ahead isn’t fully clear.
When I bought Door County Candle, I had no idea what I was getting into. I didn’t know the risks, the challenges, or the sleepless nights that would come with it. But I didn’t let that stop me. I kept going, faced the obstacles as they came, and figured it out along the way.
Now, with Luba Libations, our newest business, it’s the same story. Walking into stores, pitching our product, getting it on shelves—it’s all fueled by courage, determination, and yes, blind confidence.
Here’s the truth: You don’t need to have it all figured out to start. You don’t need to wait for the perfect moment or the perfect plan. Be bold. Be brave. Take the leap. The risks will come, but so will the rewards.
So, to anyone out there sitting on a dream, an idea, or a goal—this is your sign. Go for it. Trust yourself. You are capable of more than you know.
Here’s to a week of bold moves and unstoppable confidence.

P.S. Our sister company, Luba Libations, which I mentioned above, has been nominated for Coolest Things Made in Wisconsin! Voting begins tomorrow, and I’d be so grateful if you could cast a vote for us. Your support means the world!
P.S.S. This photo is of Nic and me at our very first Fall Harvest Festival at the candle shop this past weekend! A huge thank you to our incredible staff and volunteers for their hard work, bright smiles, and helping hands. It was SUCH a fun day for everyone! I even had the chance to meet some of you who read my Sunday Reflections—it truly made my day!
