Happy Sunday, candle family!
First off, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who finds a moment to read these weekly reflections. There was a time when I wondered if these words found their audience, and hearing that they do—that you're out there reading—fills me with so much gratitude and motivates me to continue sharing these moments with you.
With the ongoing construction on Highway 42, it's been a quieter time for us, but we're making the most of every moment. It's given me space to breathe new life into the store, rearrange, and dream up new ideas for our candle bar. Amidst this quiet, I've had the privilege of connecting with so many wonderful people.
One remarkably special customer, who first walked through our doors during our Ukraine candle fundraiser, has left a lasting impression on me. She, I, and two of our special volunteers shared a powerful moment of prayer for her brother two years ago, who was in desperate need of a kidney and very sick. Although he sadly passed away last year, she told me that praying together is a memory her brother cherished deeply. Seeing her always fills my heart with warmth; she's become more than a customer—she's part of our candle family. It was so special seeing her at our shop yesterday.
This sense of community extends far beyond the walls of our store. Just the other day, a woman called in search of one of our Wish candles. Unfortunately, we were out of stock, and the fundraiser had ended. She shared that her son, a Wish kid, had passed away years ago, and that the candle held significant meaning for her. Moments like these underscore the profound truth that what we're building here is so much more than just a candle company. It's a community bound by stories, love, and shared moments of light in the darkness.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your stories, your time, and your incredibly kind hearts. Your acts of kindness, your support for our business, and your presence in our candle family mean everything. Together, we're lighting up the world, one candle at a time.
Here's to continuing our journey together, with open hearts and open doors. Thank you for being an integral part of our candle family.
💛Christiana
