As we tuck another beautiful week into the pages of our story at Door County Candle, I find myself wrapped in a blanket of gratitude and warmth. This week was a tapestry of moments that reminded me why we pour so much love into every candle we create. It's not just about the candles themselves but the memories and connections they ignite.
One such unforgettable memory blossomed this week when three generations of Ukrainian women, my grandmother, my mother, and I, came together to pour candles. The air was rich with stories, laughter, and the tropical scents we each chose to blend. This special gathering of hearts and hands across generations will be a cherished memory forever etched in my heart. It was a reminder of the strength, love, and resilience that flows through our family, mirrored in the gentle flicker of the candles we created together.
Our candle bar has truly evolved into a sanctuary of creativity and conversation. This weekend, we welcomed over 50 wonderful people who embarked on their own scent journeys, crafting unique blends that filled the room with a symphony of fragrances. Witnessing the variety of scents created was not only a joy but also a fountain of inspiration for the future. There are so many ideas simmering in my mind, and I can't wait to share them with you all – so, stay tuned!
In addition to these heartwarming experiences, we're bubbling with excitement for our upcoming adventures at local farm markets this summer. This new venture is a thrilling opportunity for us to connect with more of you in person, share our story, and spread the magic of candle making. We promise to keep you updated on where you can find us, and we hope you'll join us under the sun for what promises to be memorable days filled with laughter, community, and, of course, candles.
Tonight also marks the last evening of our Wish Candle, a project that has been incredibly close to our hearts. Partnering with Make-A-Wish and having the honor to meet Sophia and her family has been profoundly moving. Sophia's Blend, a special creation that came from this collaboration, has touched many lives, reminding us all of the power of hope and the beauty of dreams.
