Sunday Reflections ✨ 03.10.2024

Hi everybody! I'm sorry I missed last week's Sunday reflection, but I'm back this week with some heartfelt updates.

In celebration of International Women's Day and Women's History Month, we launched our new Powerful candle. We are proudly supporting Girls on the Run, an incredible organization recommended by Carol - one of our wonderful team members whom you may have met in our store. They even stopped by on launch day and we had an amazing conversation about their mission. I absolutely love days like this, meeting passionate people who are making a real impact in the world.

The Powerful candle holds a special place in my heart. As a woman in manufacturing - an industry often dominated by men, and as the owner of Door County Candle, I've encountered my fair share of challenges. There were instances when vendors questioned my abilities and influence, but these experiences have only made me stronger.

I feel incredibly empowered running Door County Candle, with my husband Nic as my unwavering support. Nic always reminds me of my strength and potential. Here's a funny anecdote - once, a vendor walked in, met Nic's eyes, and asked if he was the owner. His response? A simple, "No." The vendor looked bewildered, unable to imagine anyone else as the owner. When I revealed that I was the owner, the vendor was surprised. These moments highlight the existing gender biases and the importance of proving them wrong. I often share stories like this on my personal LinkedIn, so feel free to check them out here

So, our Powerful candle isn't just a candle. It's a symbol of strength, hope, and light - a tribute to all the trailblazing women who came before me and a beacon for those we can, and will, empower in the future.

Our candles are more than products; they're symbols of resilience and determination. I hope our candles bring you as much peace, strength, and confidence as they have brought to me, and many others.

Until next week...

💛Christiana
